    Jesse Gorzinski works for the IBM i development lab in Rochester, MN. He is the Business Architect of open source technologies. Jesse, who was doing RPG programming at the age of 18, is an expert on application development on IBM i, as well as system access and modernization. His hobbies include playing with his dog, replacing complex applications with 5-line Python programs, and advocating for the use of new technologies on IBM i!Prior to his 2006 employment at IBM, Jesse worked with the AS/400 as an I/T administrator for an IBM customer in the finance/mortgage industry, where he specialized in data backup/recovery, process optimization, and information integrity. He has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science as well as a Master of Business Administration degree

    IBM Db2 for i is the integrated relational database within the operating system that leverages the high performance and virtualization capabilities of Power Systems. The Db2 for i team continues to deliver enhancements around security, modernization and efficiency. IBM Db2 Web Query for i provides in-depth data analytics capabilities. Db2 Web Query also continues to deliver new features and functions.     Steve Finnes, IBM Power Systems HA Product Offering Manager will give an update regarding our high availability and disaster recovery roadmap and brief you on the latest enhancements to Db2 Mirror and IBM SystemMirror PowerHA for i.

    IBM Db2 Mirror for i is a new LPP (Licensed Program Product) available with IBM i 7.4. Db2 Mirror for i provides a Recovery Time Objective (RTO) of zero by synchronously mirroring database updates between two separate nodes.     Steve has spent several years in IBM with positions spanning basic research to product development, product offering and marketing. He is the product offering manager for IBM Power Systems with responsibility for PowerHA for AIX, PowerHA for IBM i and the CBU.

    IBM i 7.4 was announced just last year on April 23rd and GA on June 21st, 2019. The IBM i team continues to roll out new features and enhancements to the operating system.     Steve has worked on the IBM i operating system and its predecessors since the initial development of the AS/400. Since 2007, he has been the IBM i Chief Architect, responsible for the strategy of the operating system and the plan for future releases.
